OKAY! I have been the worst blogger ever and it's midterms and as tonight's form of procrasitnation I shall create a speedy post that will quite insufficiently sum up the past forever weeeks during which I have not blogged. Actually lies. I am just putting pictures and not summing things up. TOO MUCH! okay. Here goes.

I might have already used this picture and actually.....it is not the one I meant to put. How sad. Oh well. This is the sunset over Fiesole. You can walk to Fiesole from Firenze and it is wonderful and beautiful and the greatest. This picture was many weeks ago...might have already talked tboua it but if not it is where I climbed up and picnicked with my friends and then watched the sunset. Greatest. Ever.

These are pigeons. Begin pigeons. In Siena. Which is gorgeous.

This is Siena's Duomo. Prette cool,

Oh the Places You'll Go...

Oh my. I was somehow under the impression that I had blogged more since I have been here...but...apparently not. Since I have last blogged oh so many things have happened.

I have been to:

Assisi

Ravenna

Camaiore
...twice...

So, I went to Camaiore for the first time not this past weekend but the previous one. It is about an hour and a half train ride away. When myself and my two friends, Eliza and Eve, got off the train we were slightly confused to find ourselves in what appeared to be...not the beach. To be honest, we did not do quite as much research about getting to our destination as would have been wise but....we followed the only road we could find and within seconds we found ourselves on a tiny...main street (though I don't know if I would go so far as to call it that...). The first thing we saw was a gelateria called "Piter Pan" with a cartoon picture of Peter Pan on it's sign. We went in, got some much needed coffee, and asked is the beach was nearby. The woman working at the store misinformed us, saying that  it was not in the vicinity (momentary panic). But, upon crossing the street we came to a Tabacchi wherein we were informed that the beach was a short bus ride away. Soon after we arrived on the beach and enjoyed a marvelous, sunny day with beach ahead of us and giant, beautiful mountains behind us. BUT...none of us had a camera. So we (semi-jokingly) decided that we would have to return the following weekend to document our new found beach destination.

So, next weekend came and I arrived back in Camaiore, camera in hand, to doccument the wonderfulness. We stayed in a hotel with a room that had three tiny beds pushed together and a WONDERFUL little porch overlooking a piazza, the beach, and the mountains. I don't think it gets much better than that.

Ohhh Soooo Goood--Wednesday, September 12th

Preface: Italy is wonderful. I am never coming home. I am well aware of the fact that I must make a more informative post about big picture shenanigans going on but I thought I might as well post something asap and this is what I’ve got from my brief recap of my day yesterday. Here we go….

Wednesday, September 12th

So today is the second to last day of my first week of classes. It was quite a rough day, mostly due to the fact that I had a total of 8 hours of class throughout the day spanning form 9:30am-7:00 pm and taking place in three separate locations. That being said, I can't complain for having the opportunity to take several (mandatory) strolls throughout Firenze in the midst of the madness that was today. So, my schedule today was photography (3 hours) followed by a rapidamente lunch (20 minutes), followed by Italian (2 hours), followed by my jewelry and metalsmithing class (3 hours).

I am quite proud to say that I successfully made the walk from the Jewlery studio, which I had never been to before, the whole way back to my house. Alto chinqui (high five's probably spelled and conjugated incorrectly) to me. When I finally arrived back home I was greeted by the incredible smell of Papa Valerios PESTO. Dinner tonight was as follows:

Pasta con pesto followed by wonderfully dressed, cooked vegetables and basically the most amazing Italian quesadilla ever invented: tortilla, mozzarella, prosciutto, and oregano. Warm and melty and amazing.  Brava Giovanna e Vilerio!

After dinner Lynsey, my roommate, and I returned to our room where we stretched, tried to rid ourselves of shin splints, and did some exercise-type-things and yoga.  And now I am in bed. Full, sleepy, and looking forward to meeting my art history class tomorrow morning in the Piaza di Republica, right by the Duomo and the Uffizi.

Sleep time. Ciao.

Pre Departure-GOODBYE AMURICAAAAA!!!!!

Hello People.
Times are a changing for this lovely little blog of mine. I am leaving for a semester abroad TOMORROW and for the coming semester, which I will be spending in Florence, this will be the blog I use to post pictures(of amazing foooooood...and)/updates/stories/all sorts of lovely things of that nature. Just letting everyone know. It will continue to be photo-y but will probably become a bit more bloggy-bloggy for the few months that I am away. So...that is my story. And below is a picture (not taken by me...) that I thought was quite appropriate as a last night in America post. Goodbye my fellow AMURICANS. See you at Christmas!

Because I miss my Brenda (well...and because I have a disturbing number of photos of her)

Well, I was organizing photos today and realized just how many trillions of photos I have of ms. Brenda Palacios.
So...I thought it was about time I did (yet another) Brenda post.
And also I miss her. Because she is in Spain. Ah. Madness.
If you are reading this Brenda, I miss you and love you and cannot wait for out European playdates.
Muwahahaha.

Enjoy!

and I'm back

Well...my last post was quite some time ago.

So many boos to me. I have been in the midst of all kinds of craziness and despite the fact that I have taken countless photos, as per usual, I have failed to be a good blog poster. But I am trying again.

Some of these might be repeats but these are the photos, and graphics images that I used for the portfolio I submitted to apply for the photo minor I am attempting to get into.

[This is not a photo taken by me. I just did the design]
The assignment was to design the cover for a magazine (which you had to make up)
and provide a cover which pertained to one of the central articles in the publication

[This was a graphics assignment for which we had to design a series of web pages.
I chose to do a photo site for myself.]

[this is another part of the magazine assignment.
Aligned differently because the design was for the iPad
so we had to do each design both vertically and horizontally]
